I backed up my profiles, save games, captures (everything except applications aka games) on to a USB stick first, using the Backup and Restore option in PS4 Settings. I decided not to back up my games since 90% of them are on disc anyway. Getting the HDD out of the slim drive casing was easy too. I've had my PS4 for two weeks and installed the Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB drive yesterday, took about 20 mins to do, super easy.
